About this fund:
MC² is a living memorial started by the Michelini family in order to remember Marielle Casimira Cecilia and all the life-affirming work she did within her community at Jersey shore. The MC² mission is to gather energy and resources to fund powerful performing arts experiences so that young people may discover the magnitude of their own personal potential.
Marielle Casimira Cecilia was an avid fan of the performing arts and a longtime student and volunteer in various Jersey Shore communities. She attended Wall Elementary School where she was Editor of the Student Newspaper, “Off the Wall”. She was First Violist in the School Orchestra and also performed with the Garden State Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
Marielle starred as Annie in Annie Get Your Gun at the Algonquin Arts Theatre, Manasquan, NJ, Performing Arts Academy as well as multiple supporting roles in various productions and intern positions at AAT. Marielle enjoyed performing with her friends in multiple school productions under the loving direction of Mr. Steve Bryant (Manasquan Music & Dance Academy) while at Wall Intermediate. She was accepted into Communications High School Career Academy with the intention to study advanced writing and journalism. Marielle was lead vocalist in the band “First Class” with student rockers at the Kelley School of Music and alongside her brother Alex. She wrote and performed original contemporary music. Enjoying the responsibilities of a young benefactress, Marielle also raised funds and awareness for various local charities including the Monmouth County Food Bank.
According to her family, “Marielle was passionate about expressing herself through performance. She loved spending time surrounded by her artistic mentors who shared her passion for the performing arts and her talented friends. Her happiest moments were spent in rehearsal and on the stage. These experiences enriched her life, and we are pleased that this fund will allow others the same kinds of experiences.” MC² Funding the Arts was created in Marielle’s memory to benefit students interested in participating in the Performing Art to enrich their lives and their community.
